Asuogyamang district hosts Eastern regional voluntary youth camp 2018. This is a part of the National Youth Authority's programs to strengthen and drive volunteerism in young people across the 10 regions of Ghana.
The Eastern regional camp hosted by the Asuogyamang district,Atimpoku near Akosombo has seen various districts and municipality youth participate.
Addressing the campers in a brief orientation and program description, on the theme, Promoting Voluntarism for national development, Ms Luyusa the NYA district coordinator of Asuogyamang inspired the youth on community development via service to mother Ghana.
The participants paid a courtesy call on the district chief executive Honourable Samuel Agyekum who addressed the campers on the opportunities to be derived from volunteering are immense and encouraged the participants to contribute their little to development. As part of the program,various coordinators within the region took the opportunity to come and extend well wishes to the campers who'll be supporting the community of Mangoase near Akwamuman in a Health facility. The campers are 30 in number, comprised of artisans such as masons, electrical technicians, painters,steel benders and carpenters.
The camp is a 14 day event which runs from 1st to 16th December,2018.

Ghana's major transport system is the road. Over 70% of Ghana's citizens travel by the road each day but do the transport system have good roads? Travelling across the Eastern region, one of the food hub of the country's backbones,It appears that most of her roads are sick. The roads need urgent attention and construction. In the Krobo state, most villages are disconnected due to bad road networks. The vehicles that help in carrying farm produce from vilages do not want to go there since the road networks are bad. I spoke and spotted areas from Ooersika through to Sutri etc.where farmers have to carry weights of farm produce such as Cassava,maize etc.to a road that's a bit OK that sees vehicles come through to load them to the market square, Klo-Agogo. Verdant Global Boti community summer school second week ended so let's look back on what was achieved.The games and other extramural activities were moved to the morning instead of the afternoon with the objective of attracting more kids at 8 o'clock. Indeed the teams which had more members were more likely to win the games. They're organized on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Additionally, creative activities encouraging waste management were added on the Tuesday and Thursday morning. The courses continued as usual from 9am to 12noon except for Friday where an ICT session was organized by one of our partners, Young at Heart Ghana. Additionally, we have planned an awareness event for next week Thursday, 16th August aiming at the entire community as part of the International Youth Day 2018.
