Rural Water Crisis in Ghana is Real

World water Day is here again! Each year on the 22nd March, the world observes this unique natural body-Water.
Ghana observes this day too but its never a day of happiness to many rural communities. This is due to the fact that, this rural communities forms part of those who worldwide, lack access to water on an easy grounds. This is not a yearly challenge which affects this residents, but a lifetime happening. Most of this residents have kids travel minutes to access a close 'Safe water' for their families and chores. 'Water is life' as the saying goes and popular in many Ghanaians but does it comes with ease? Its with this challenge that our Ghanaian government shouldn't feel good but make good use of this yearly event not to cut-sod for water projects but to open new taps or portable dug-wells to this locals. It shouldn't feel good for our country to only be talking about challenges and research works which enables us feel part of this yearly event.
Its never a mandate to our leaders to provide this valuable resource to locals and to do well to provide this lifetime resource. If for over 3 decades of a young man in a Community called Trawa, in the Yilo-Klo municipality of the Eastern region experiences their dug-well drying up during the dry season like this, how well can they become a part of the developmental process a government wishes them to be a part of? Its some of this challenges that our Ghanaian government should wake up to save our natural reserves especially our Forests and river bodies which needs to be tapped, to provide water for locals. Over 2.1billion people in the world suffer due to lack of water daily. Ghana is way blessed to have her locals suffer too. Let's save our natural reserves and create access to clean water.
Save Nature!
