Woes of the over 30years Klo-Agogo Presbyterian basic school
We have been to more than half of the Klo (krobo) state not because we natives, but because we have been looking forward to creating awareness about our sinking state in terms of social development.
"I grew up in a village where as a kid, I can access just Kindergarten and primary school facility and to further, I have to walk for 2 or more miles to access the JHS facility of my choice."- Kwesi(An old student)
Today we begin sharing by letting you know of a "side-road or road-side" school near the Klo-Agogo market, the Klo-Agogo Presbyterian basic school which is over 30 years. Without a fencing, the pupils have to cut bamboos and use it as fencing to at least shape the open and distractive space of the school.Having seen and experience this, the school remains underdeveloped. There is no safe facility(classrooms) since during hot sun, rains and windy weather conditions, kids have to be closed home. There are times pupils come to school in the morning to see animal and human toilets littering. They experienced several breakages of their furniture (desks etc.) office since they aren't well secured.
This according to the pupils,PTA and SMC they tried meeting the Yilo Krobo municipal assembly, the member of Parliament Hon.Lawyer Amoatey which they promised their support to put a permanent school facility. This promise was made during the election period.Today this woes remains and kids keep suffering the adversities of the bad facility. We have witnessed a great performance, a good BECE result which the school keeps performing well with a 100% aggregate. We call on the government of Ghana, the Ghana education service,NGOs,the Municipal Assembly and the MP to come aid this school. Let's rethink and come aid the Klo-Agogo Presbyterian basic school.
Education is the key to Zero Poverty!
